Launch of WBCAP-WBIBM projects funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark
On 26 April 2021, IOM – The UN Migration Agency held an online kick-off conference for two new regional capacity building initiatives in the area of immigration and border management in the Western Balkans.
The aim of the Western Balkan Readmission Capacity Building Facility (WBCAP) and Western Balkans Integrated Border Management Capacity Building Facility (WBIBM) is to strengthen and support national migration management authorities in the Western Balkans to provide an effective and rights-based response to migration challenges, ensure protection-sensitive return and readmission procedures, and address and mitigate transnational crime threats in the mixed migration context.
WBCAP and WBIBM will be implemented in the period 2021-2024 and are funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
