In 2024, IOM Denmark became a Country Office for Partnership and Advocacy (COPA) and a Country Office with Coordination Function (COCF) covering Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. The office is based in the UN City Copenhagen. The office is leading IOM’s liaison and coordination with strategic partners and donors in the Nordic Countries, reporting to IOM’s Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia in Vienna.

It serves to strengthen collaboration with strategic partners in the Nordic Countries on areas of mutual interest and increase knowledge of IOM’s strategies and work globally.

Migration projects in the Nordics include support to Rights-Based Return Management, Resettlement of Refugees, technical support to Labour Mobility and Migration Management, Climate Change and Migration Data, and Counter-Trafficking Data, among others.
